Extract Pages

Extract pages from a PDF online for free. Select any pages or ranges, download them as a clean new PDF, and keep your original untouched — no upload, no account.

How to extract pages online — step by step

  1. Upload the PDF you want to extract pages from using the drop zone or file picker. All pages load as visual thumbnails so you can see the content of each page before selecting.

  2. Select pages using either method: click any thumbnail to highlight it with a green border and a bold checkmark, or type a range directly into the input field at the top of the grid (e.g. '1-3, 5, 8'). Both methods stay in sync — clicking thumbnails updates the range field, and typing a range instantly highlights the matching thumbnails.

  3. Use 'Select all' or 'Deselect all' for bulk actions. The toolbar stays pinned at the top as you scroll, showing a live count of selected pages. A red message appears if the typed range is invalid, so you can correct it before proceeding.

  4. Click 'Extract Pages' to build and download the new PDF containing only your selected pages. Your original file is untouched.

Why use PDFToolsNow to extract pages?

  • Control the output order

Pages are assembled in the order you list them — type '7, 1-3' and the output puts page 7 first. You are not limited to document order.

  • Share only what's relevant

Send a recipient exactly the pages they need from a large document without exposing confidential sections they should not see.

  • Focused output, smaller file

The extracted PDF contains only the selected pages and their associated assets — making it far smaller and faster to send than the full source document.

  • Validated before processing

PDFToolsNow checks every page number and range against the actual document before building the output — no silent failures or blank pages in the result.

What is extract pages?

Page extraction creates a brand-new PDF containing only the pages you select from a source document, leaving the original completely intact. It is the logical complement of Remove Pages — instead of specifying what to discard, you specify exactly what to keep. This is the right tool whenever you need a focused subset of a larger document. Common use cases include: pulling a single signed contract page out of a multi-contract bundle, extracting the executive summary from a 100-page report to share with stakeholders who only need the highlights, saving one receipt from a combined bank statement PDF before submitting an expense claim, isolating the relevant slides from a full presentation deck, archiving specific exhibits from a legal filing without including the entire case document, or sending a client just the pages of a proposal that relate to their project. The extracted pages are assembled into a clean, standalone PDF in the exact order you specified — not necessarily document order — so you have full control over the output sequence. All text, images, vector graphics, and external hyperlinks on the extracted pages are carried over from the source without re-encoding. Everything runs inside your browser.

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract pages from a PDF for free?
Upload your PDF to PDFToolsNow, enter the page numbers or ranges you want to keep (e.g. '2-5, 8'), then click 'Extract Pages'. The new PDF downloads immediately — no account or payment needed.
Does extracting pages modify the original PDF?
No. PDFToolsNow creates a new file from the pages you select. Your original PDF on disk is never touched or overwritten.
Can I extract non-consecutive pages?
Yes. Use a comma-separated list to specify any combination of pages and ranges, such as '1, 4-6, 10, 13-15'. The output PDF will contain those pages in the order you listed them.
What is the difference between Extract Pages and Split PDF?
Extract Pages creates one new PDF from the pages you choose and discards the rest. Split PDF breaks the document into multiple separate output files based on defined ranges. Use Extract when you need a single focused output; use Split when you need several files.
What is the difference between Extract Pages and Remove Pages?
They are inverses of each other. Extract Pages keeps only the pages you specify. Remove Pages deletes only the pages you specify and keeps everything else. Both produce a single output PDF.
Will hyperlinks and images in the extracted pages still work?
Yes. All content on the extracted pages — text, images, vector graphics, and external hyperlinks — is preserved exactly. Internal page links that point to pages not included in the extraction will no longer have a valid destination.
How do I extract pages from a PDF without Acrobat?
PDFToolsNow is a free, browser-based alternative. Upload your PDF, enter the page numbers or ranges to keep, and download the new PDF — no Adobe Acrobat licence or desktop software required.
Can I extract pages in a different order than they appear in the document?
Yes. List pages in the order you want them in the output — for example, '5, 1-3' puts page 5 first, followed by pages 1 through 3. The output follows your specified order, not the original document order.

Privacy: All processing happens inside your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to any server — the extracted document is built and downloaded locally on your device.
